Hello parents and early childhood educators!

We are team of early childhood educators in training and we are here to share some interesting websites that we have discovered with all of you. We aim to guide young children in learning mathematics in a more fun and engaging way, and we hope by introducing these websites, your child/student will gain a little more interest in the subject and also learn independently.

We were websurfing and have come across a very interesting website for you and the little one learn and practice mathematics :) And we would like to share that it with all of you!
This mathematics education game that we have come across is called Fun Brain.
We were websurfing and have come across a very interesting website for you and the little one learn and practice mathematics :) And we would like to share that it with all of you!
This mathematics education game that we have come across is called Fun Brain.
This game is suitable for children 6 and above as it covers mathematical topics which are more complex. It covers topics like addition,subtraction, matching and distance.
It is a great way to learn and practice mathematics! The graphics of the game are very attractive and I'm sure the children will enjoy playing the games as I'm sure the colourful images appeal to them. It will definitely keep them glued to the screen! This not only improve their mathematical skills level, learning new mathematics concept and thinking skills, enhances their eye-hand coordination but also parental involvment as certain games require reading and parents can help their children with that. What a great way and opportunity to bond with the little one! :)
In addition to that, after your child completes a game successfully, a small note of encouragement like "good" will be shown. It definitely improves the child self-esteem and thus making them feel good about themselves and wanting to move on to the other games!:)
Thus,we that this is a very good and interactive way for the little ones to learn mathematics. In addition, interactive games like this can help children who have little interest in Mathematics gain some interest in this subject.

# 2 Activity.
Are you kids always bored and tired when you ask them to practice mathematics? Are your students unwilling to participate in math activities because they have little interest in the subject?
Fret not!
Here's another great website to share with you all today, I guarantee you that your child or students will see Mathematics/ problem sums in a brand new light!
This web activity/ online math game is called Batter's Up Basketball! The game is targeted at the 6 year olds. This game allows children to solve mathematical concepts like addition and multiplication in a enjoyable way.
To check this great website out...
1) go to http://www.prongo.com/math/index.html and you will see this and you may select the math concept (either addition or multiplication) you would like to try and click start the game.
2) After making your selection of the math concept, simply click start!:)
3) Next, select your math challenge, single, digit or home run. (Single=Easy, Digit=Medium, Home run=Difficult) For starters, single would be a great head start, and slowly move on to double and home run something more complex and challenging!
4) After selecting the level of competence, a math sum will appear and its time to solve it! After figuring out the answer, select your answer from one of the many options. ( Note: There's a time limit!) This makes solving the sum more exciting isn't it?

Have fun playing this game of virtual basketball with mathematics! Didn't know that Math could be so fun and exciting huh? :)
However,
We rate this game only at 3/5.
Although the graphics are appealing, with the use of colours and great graphics, and the mathematics sums ranges from easy to difficult, which is a great challenge for the 6 year olds (especially the adding of 3 digit numbers!), we felt that children might not stay glued to the screen for a long time as as great as the graphics are, it always stays the same, thus children lose interest after 5 minutes and might wander off to another place after while.
However, we still think it is a good way to practice mathematics, and having children to practice mathematics at least 15 minutes a day is good enough:)
So if your child have 15 minutes to spare, why not get him/her to try to this website out!
